Hon John Birch 18th District State Central Committeeman This is the home page of the Illinois 18th Congressional District Republican Party. From this page you can access the 20 counties that are all or part of this district. Some of these counties have their own web pages; others you can only email either the County Chairman or someone in the county who serves as their Internet contact. Additionally, you can access web pages of the State and National Republican Party organizations and some of the officeholders who represent this district. The Illinois 18th Congressional District is the central District in Illinois and runs along the Illinois River. The northern most county is Putnam and the southern most is Pike. The three largest vote producers are Peoria, Sangamon, and Tazewell. The District is represented in Congress by Congressman Ray LaHood who was first elected in 1994. He lives in Peoria and was previously Chief of Staff for Congressman Bob Michel who served this district from 1956 through 1994. Keeping all these web pages and contacts up to date is a constant challenge. We hope you will find this of interest and welcome suggestions for the inclusion of information that will be of help.
